Customer FAQs

Common customer questions about posting, pricing, movers, payment, and move day — all in one place.

Overview

Answers to the questions we get most often from customers. If your question isn't here, use the search bar or contact support.

Getting started

Is Move Gigs Board free to use? Posting is free. You pay a flat $49 booking fee when you reserve your team, plus labor (hourly or Flat Rate Per Mover) and travel.

Where do you operate? We're expanding city by city across the Southeast US. Check the Locations page for current cities.

Do you handle long-distance moves? Not currently. Focus is on local labor.

Posting

How long does it take to post? Most posts take 8–12 minutes across nine short steps.

Can I save and finish later? Yes. Every step auto-saves under your account.

Can I post multiple moves? Yes.

Movers

How are movers approved? Admin reviews the full 10-step mover application. Skills and equipment go through separate verification steps.

Can I choose who's on my crew? Yes. You review profiles and pick.

What happens if a mover no-shows? You can invite a replacement, and the no-show mover's Quality Score is affected.

Pricing

Why is $35 the lowest rate? It reflects the minimum earn-worthy rate for approved labor with no equipment expectations.

What if my move takes longer than the estimate? On hourly jobs, the final bill reflects actual hours at the same posted rate. Flat Rate Per Mover jobs do not change with time — the flat amount stands. See Understanding pricing.

Do you have a satisfaction guarantee? Damage is handled through the mover directly. The platform tracks accountability through Quality Score.

Payment

Is my card charged twice? Once for the $49 booking fee at reservation, and once for your booked move balance the day before your move. If the crew works beyond the booked hours, you authorize that exact additional amount by signing the completion form.

When do movers get paid? After you tap Pay My Movers, typically 1–2 business days via Stripe.

Move day

What's a Move PIN? A unique 6-digit code that starts each mover's clock. See Move PIN and check-in.

What if I'm not home when they arrive? You must be reachable. Movers can't start work without the PIN.
