Reviewing mover profiles

How to read a mover's profile — Quality Score, reviews, verified equipment, and history — before you invite them.

Overview

Every mover has a public profile that shows exactly what you'd want to know before hiring them. Reviewing profiles is how you decide who joins your crew.

Purpose

Profiles are the single source of truth about a mover. Everything on them is either self-reported and clearly labeled, or verified by admin and clearly badged.

When to use it

  • After posting a move, when applicants start appearing on your dashboard.
  • When you're building your team from a list of interested movers.

Step-by-step

  1. Open your move from the customer dashboard.
  2. Under Applicants, tap any mover's card.
  3. Review each section:

- Header — name, photo, home city, headline, verification badges. - Primary stats — Quality Score, average rating, completed moves. - Verified equipment — items admin has verified with photos. - Verified skills — skills admin has approved. - Reviews — from verified past customers only. - Performance — on-time rate, acceptance rate, cancellation rate. - Photo gallery — self-uploaded work photos, admin-approved.

What the badges mean

  • Background check — pending, approved, or expired.
  • Insurance — self-reported, verified, or none.
  • Equipment tier — Standard, Silver, Gold, or Platinum based on count of verified items.
  • Specialty approved — admin has cleared this mover for piano, safe, or other specialty work.

Helpful tips

  • Quality Score is a composite of rating, preparedness, on-time performance, acceptance, cancellation, and damage history. Anything above 80 is strong.
  • A mover with fewer completed moves but a high Quality Score is often a newer mover doing great work — don't skip them just for low volume.
  • Read the most recent 5–10 reviews, not just the average.

Common mistakes

  • Picking on price alone. A slightly higher hourly rate but faster, more careful crew usually costs less overall.
  • Ignoring the on-time rate. Late arrivals compress your day.

Frequently asked questions

Are all reviews real? Yes. Reviews only come from customers who completed a booking through Move Gigs Board.

Can movers pay to boost their profile? No. Rankings are earned.

Troubleshooting

  • Mover profile shows "Pending approval" — that mover hasn't been admin-approved yet and shouldn't be applying. Contact support if you see this.
