Building your move team

Turn applicants into your reserved crew — the core Move Gigs Board workflow.

Overview

After you post, movers apply. Building your team means reviewing those applications, picking the movers you want, and reserving them to lock your crew in.

Purpose

This is where you shape the move: the right people, the right skills, the right crew size for the job.

When to use it

As soon as applications start rolling in — usually within a few hours of posting.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the move from your customer dashboard.
  2. Under Applicants, review each mover's profile.
  3. Tap Add to team on the movers you want.
  4. Watch the Team panel fill up. It shows how many spots are left based on the crew size you requested.
  5. When your team is complete, tap Reserve team to proceed to checkout.

Inviting a specific mover

If you already know a mover you want on the crew, open their profile and tap Invite to a move. Choose the move from the list. That mover gets a direct invitation.

Filling gaps

If a mover you added later declines or is unavailable, their spot re-opens. You can invite additional applicants or search for a replacement.

Helpful tips

  • Balance the crew: pair one experienced lead mover with additional crew for larger jobs.
  • Check specialty coverage — if you have a piano, make sure at least one crew member has verified specialty skill.
  • Message a candidate before adding them if you have a question (see below).

Common mistakes

  • Waiting too long to add movers. Great movers get booked quickly.
  • Building a team larger than you need. Extra crew adds hourly cost.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove a mover after adding them? Yes, until you reserve. After reservation, use the replacement flow instead.

How many movers can be on a team? As many as your crew size requires — typically 2 to 6.

Troubleshooting

  • "Reserve" button is disabled — the team isn't complete. Add movers until every spot is filled.
