Messaging movers

Ask questions and coordinate with applicants and reserved crew from inside your dashboard.

Overview

Messaging lets you and your movers talk directly inside the platform. Every message stays attached to the move for reference.

Purpose

Ask clarifying questions ("Can you handle a 3-flight walkup?"), share access notes, and coordinate on move day — all without swapping personal numbers.

When to use it

  • Before you invite: verify a mover can handle a specialty item.
  • After you reserve: confirm arrival time, parking, and gate codes.
  • On move day: check-in updates and location questions.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the move from your dashboard.
  2. Tap Messages on the move detail screen or open any mover's card and tap Message.
  3. Type your message. Attach a photo if it helps (e.g., stairwell photo, driveway photo).
  4. Movers get a push and email notification.

Helpful tips

  • Keep personal contact info off-platform until move day, if at all. In-app messaging keeps everything documented.
  • Photos beat descriptions when it comes to access questions.
  • Movers may not reply instantly — most respond within an hour during daytime.

Common mistakes

  • Sharing sensitive personal information (bank details, SSN). Never needed.
  • Trying to negotiate hourly rate over messages — rate is fixed at post time.

Frequently asked questions

Are messages private? Yes, between you and the mover. Admin can view when there's a support case.

Can I message movers who haven't applied? Only if you invited them directly.

Troubleshooting

  • Mover isn't replying — try again after a few hours. If it's move day, contact support.
  • Photo won't upload — check file size (under 10 MB) and retry.
