Editing a move
Update details on an open post — inventory, addresses, dates, and rate tier — until you reserve.
Overview
You can edit an open move post any time before checkout. Once you reserve your team, most fields lock so movers don't see the rules change under them.
Purpose
Editing keeps your post accurate. Accurate posts get accurate applications and accurate estimates.
When to use it
- You forgot a large item and need to add it.
- Your date shifted by a day or two.
- You want to raise the rate to attract more applications.
- You changed rental-truck decision (adding a POD, removing a truck).
Step-by-step
- Open the customer dashboard.
- Under My Moves, tap the move you want to edit.
- Tap Edit move details.
- Change what you need. Every change auto-saves.
- If you change something that affects the estimate (inventory, rate tier, addresses), the estimate updates immediately.

What you can edit
- Move date and window
- Addresses
- Inventory and specialty items
- Access details (stairs, elevator, parking)
- Rate tier
- Notes to movers
What locks after reservation
- Rate tier (frozen for every mover on the crew)
- Crew size (contact support for changes)
- Move date within 24 hours of the move (reschedule instead — see below)
Helpful tips
- Add a note to movers when you edit something material, like "added a piano" or "changed rental truck to a 26 ft."
- Movers who already applied get a notification when core details change so they can update or withdraw.
Common mistakes
- Editing after reservation and expecting hours or crew size to change automatically. They don't — contact support for structural changes.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to re-post if my move date moves a week? No. Edit the date if the post is still open. If you've already reserved, see Rescheduling a move.
Troubleshooting
- Edit button disabled — you've already reserved. Use rescheduling or contact support.
