Choosing the right service level
Pick the hourly rate that matches the equipment and skill your move needs: $35, $45, $55, or $75 per mover.
Overview
Every posted move includes an hourly rate you're offering per mover. Move Gigs Board uses four standardized tiers so pricing stays consistent across the platform.
Purpose
The service level tells movers what equipment and experience you expect. Movers only see move posts that match the tiers they're qualified for.
When to use it
Choose your tier during Step 7 of Post My Move, or update it later while your post is still open.
The four tiers
- $35 — Labor only. Loading, unloading, or general help where movers don't need to bring their own tools.
- $45 — Tools, dolly, and straps. Standard household moves that need a dolly and moving straps. Movers must have those items verified.
- $55 — Tools, dolly, straps, and shrink wrap. Full-service moves where furniture needs to be wrapped and protected in transit.
- $75 — Specialty. Pianos, safes, gun safes, and other items that require specialty equipment and verified specialty skill. Only movers with admin-approved specialty status can apply.

Helpful tips
- Match the tier to the job. Posting a piano move at $35 will not attract qualified specialty movers.
- Every mover invited to your move earns the same hourly rate you posted. Simple pricing keeps applications fair.
- Higher tiers usually mean fewer hours because equipment speeds the work up.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the cheapest tier to "save money" on a job that needs shrink wrap or a piano board. You'll get few or no applications.
- Assuming higher tiers include insurance. They don't — insurance and background-check status show on each mover's profile.
Frequently asked questions
Can I negotiate rate individually? No. Rate is set at post time and is the same for every mover on the crew.
Can I change the tier after movers apply? Yes, until you reserve. After reservation, rates are frozen.
Troubleshooting
- No movers are applying — your tier may be too low for the specialty of the work. Edit the post and raise the tier.
